Folk Art Cat Mugs

Rich earthenware clay is thrown on the potters wheel and then covered in white slip (very thin white clay) to create the surface for these hand painted Cat Mugs.

I then use underglaze to paint the designs and use a process called sgrafitto to etch out the lines of these cute black cats.

Next, it's into the kiln for the first firing. Out they come for a slathering of clear glaze and back into the kiln for another fire, creating these one of a kind kitchen reasures that will delight you with every sip.

Pair them with the matching bowls found here:

Approx. 3 1/2 -4 " tall holds approx. 8 oz.

All designs hand made by me at House of the Rising Star Art Studio.

Each piece of House of the Rising Star Pottery is hand thrown on the potter's wheel, glazed in lead-free glazes and fired. It is here where the kiln gods transform the final product, giving each piece its unique look.

If this is a gift, I'm happy to include a card with a message from you in the package. Just leave me the wording in the notes to seller at check out.
